Urijah Faber makes pick for Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov fight
Tom Taylor - August 12, 2018
On October 6, in the main event of UFC 229, undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will attempt to defend his title against the sport’s biggest star, former lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor. It’s one of the biggest fights in UFC history, and one that has fans, pundits, and the pair’s fellow fighters divided. There are those that believe Nurmagomedov’s grappling and pressure will simply be too much for McGregor. Simultaneously, there are those who believe that McGregor’s timing and power will spell the end of Nurmagomedov’s unbeaten streak.

Tom Taylor - June 19, 2018
On Saturday night — Saturday morning stateside — the UFC will return to beautiful Singapore with an exciting fight card. As always, the promotion has brought a handful of stars along with it to help promote the fights and participate in meet and greets and various other events with the fans. One of those fighters is former WEC champ and MMA pioneer Urijah Faber. Regrettably, Faber’s visit to Singapore is off to a rocky start. Not long after arriving in the country, he got hit by what he’s calling “the only car on the road.” From the looks of it, he escaped with little more than a foot injury, but still… not how you want to start a trip abroad.

Urijah Faber makes prediction for possible Demetrious Johnson vs. TJ Dillashaw superfight
Tom Taylor - February 12, 2018
One of the most talked about fights in MMA at present is a possible flyweight superfight between divisional king Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson, and reigning UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw. As the former mentor of the bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw, the probably-retired Urijah Faber is watching on intently as this possible scrap edges toward fruition. While Faber is a little more interested in Dillashaw’s options at bantamweight, he does believe Dillashaw can make the flyweight division’s 125-pound.

Jean-Claude Van Damme was recently at Team Alpha Male to show the fighters there some of his techniques. However, things got a bit more physical than anyone expected. Team Alpha Male’s Urijah Faber was right there when it all happened and explained to TMZ what he saw go down between the two.

Russell Ess - December 22, 2017
“Ask nicely motherf**kers. Ask nicely. I’m talking about the organization, the fighters. And make it a big deal, because I’m not trying to just sign a contract just cause it’s a good idea for you guys.” Those are the words from Nate Diaz speaking with the Outside The Box podcast on getting called out by fighters and from the UFC who have been trying to get him into the Octagon for a classic Diaz scrap. Nate stated that at this point in his career, he doesn’t need to fight anyone but is willing to fight any opponent if it makes sense.

Urijah Faber suggests he'd possibly make comeback for TJ Dillashaw fight
Tom Taylor - November 6, 2017
Last December, after a fun win over fellow MMA veteran Brad Pickett, Urijah Faber retired from the sport. Since then, he has repeatedly suggested he’s comfortable in his retirement, and that he has no urge to return. “I absolutely am in tact with my mind and body, and I feel better than ever, having rested over half a year now under my belt,” Faber told MMAJunkie Radio back in October. “I’m staying busy, man. I’ve got a lot going on. I love a good fight, and I love a good story. As far as just wanting to jump in for the heck of it, there’s no temptation there.”
Urijah Faber clarifies Justin Buchholz's role at TAM: It hasn’t been much of a change
Tom Taylor - October 31, 2017
Earlier this week, long-time Team Alpha Male coach Justin Buchholz announced that he’d been dealt something of a demotion by team founder Urijah Faber. Speaking on the Stud Show podcast, a frustrated sounding Buchholz explained that he’ll no longer be serving as the team’s head coach, but as a striking coach. According to Faber himself, however, Buchholz’s frustration might be a bit unfounded.
TJ Dillashaw responds to claims of ending teammate's career with cheap shot during practice
Russell Ess - October 25, 2017
You often hear that there are two sides to every story and the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle. With the feud between former Team Alpha Male teammates Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw, there is one particular story that claims Dillashaw ended a Team Alpha Male teammate’s career. Garbrandt claims Dillashaw hit Chris Holdsworth with a cheap shot to the back of the head during practice, badly concussing the TUF 18 season winner.
Urijah Faber Defends 'Gentleman' UFC Commentator Snoop Dogg
Justin Golightly - September 15, 2017
There were mixed feelings when Snoop Dogg got a job commentating for the UFC. He was given his own ‘Snoop Cast’ audio option, along with Urijah Faber, for Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. The business decision was made even more polarizing, after Snoop went off on Conor McGregor after his loss to Floyd Mayweather. There was some backlash, but Faber appeared on Submission Radio to defendizzle his broadcast partner, fah shizzle. “Man, I thought [Snoop Dogg] did amazing. The funny thing is, you know, what you get with Snoop is just a guy that’s being extremely real and passionate. It was cool. It was just a different type of eyeball on the fights. He’s a guy that’s just saying exactly what he sees. If a guy is laying on his back, he’s not thinking, ‘oh, is he going to go for a knee bar?,’ he’s thinking, ‘why is the guy laying on his back?'”
Urijah Faber Tells How Conor McGregor Heated Up His Rivalry With TJ Dillashaw
Justin Golightly - September 6, 2017
A stacked UFC 217 card is coming just around the corner in November, complete with (at least) two title fights. One of which will be Cody Garbrandt defending his bantamweight title against bitter rival and former champ, TJ Dillashaw. Behind one of the most skilled match-ups the UFC can make, lies the fire of a heated gym triangle surrounding the two fighters and once-shared friend, Urijah Faber. Sometimes featuring cameos by coach Duane Ludwig, the feud reached its boiling point on season 25 of The Ultimate Fighter, coached by Garbrandt and Dillashaw. However, this MMA drama owes its origins to an earlier season. On a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Faber revealed that Conor McGregor served as a catalyst in this ongoing Team Alpha Male saga. “The whole thing with Conor [McGregor] happened on the [Ultimate Fighter 22] TV show before this. Before any of this happened, Conor McGregor started calling [Dillashaw] a snake because me and Conor had one conversation. We were sitting there and he goes, ‘Man, congratulations on TJ for defending his belt,‘ because he was still on our team his last title defense. And I go thanks, [McGregor] goes, ‘but what’s up with Duane [Ludwig] saying no one on your team wants to be a champions, that’s weird.‘ I said, oh he’s just bitter because he’s trying to get everyone to go out to his camp, he’s just being a hater, this and that. He took that little bit of drama between me and Duane […] then the next time he saw TJ he goes, ‘oh, there’s the snake in the grass‘, and just built it into this big thing.”

Urijah Faber trashes Dillashaw and Ludwig, thanks Conor McGregor for "seeing the future"
Tom Taylor - April 20, 2017
For a time, former WEC champ Urijah Faber and former UFC champ TJ Dillashaw trained happily together, as mentor and protege, under the roof of Sacramento, California’s Team Alpha Male. Today, however, the two fighters could not be more distant. Not long after Team Alpha Male brought striking veteran Duane Ludwig in to serve as a coach, Ludwig departed the camp, and relocated to Colorado. Having formed a close relationship with the striking coach, Dillashaw then followed him to Colarado, where he now splits his training between Team Elevation and Ludwig’s gym.
Urijah Faber gives prediction for Cody Garbrandt vs. TJ Dillashaw bantamweight title fight
Tom Taylor - April 13, 2017
Urijah Faber, who recently retired from MMA and will soon be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, is the mentor of reigning bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt. He was also the mentor of former champion TJ Dillashaw, until Dillashaw left Faber’s Sacramento camp, creating one of MMA’s most visible feuds in the process. As such, Faber’s analysis of the next UFC bantamweight title fight, which will see Garbrandt attempt to defend the title against his former training partner Dillashaw, is incredibly interesting.
Urijah Faber responds to TJ Dillashaw accusing him of perpetuating beef
bjpenndotcom - March 28, 2017
Given the animosity between Urijah Faber & the rest of Team Alpha Male, and former teammate TJ Dillashaw, fight fans have been anxious to see how the beef between coaches Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw plays out on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter. Interestingly enough, during a recent interview, TJ Dillashaw explained that while Garbrandt was just getting his feet wet at Team Alpha Male, Dillashaw was on his way out the door. Because of this, Dillashaw feels there is no reason for the two men to have such an intense rivalry. Dillashaw pointed to Team Alpha Male don Urijah Faber as the mastermind behind the ongoing beef, accusing his former mentor of perpetuating a rivalry.
TJ Dillashaw accuses Urijah Faber of purposely continuing beef
bjpenndotcom - February 17, 2017
It’s no secret that former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw’s split with Team Alpha Male was a very bitter one. After Dillashaw left TAM to join Elevation Fight Team in Colorado, Urijah Faber banned his former pupil from the gym in the midst of insinuations that Dillashaw was using PEDs during his time on the team. While the pair never stepped into the Octagon against one another, Dillashaw will be facing off with Team Alpha Male’s very own Cody Garbrandt after the pair coach on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter.
