Urijah Faber “blacked out” at UFC 199 weigh-ins

By bjpenndotcom - June 4, 2016

While there is a new weigh-in procedure in California that gives fighters the opportunity to weigh-in throughout the morning in order to have more time to rehydrate prior to their fights Saturday night, they still have staredowns at the official weigh-ins.

Urijah Faber confused

During the heated staredown before their UFC 199 fight tonight., Cruz and Faber talked some trash, however Faber doesn’t remember what he said because he actually blacked out. He spoke in an interview post-weigh-in where he was asked to recall what was said between he and Cruz:

“I don’t remember. I think I blacked out. I honestly – we have a lot to say to each other because we avoid each other in most situations. I don’t think about that guy unless I have to, and I definitely have to right now.”

“Closure’s going to be nice for sure. I know that it’s been a long time coming, this fight, and it’s finally here. It was supposed to happen in 2013, he got injured, he got injured, he got injured, and now it’s our time to shine. So I’m going to smack him around, it’s going to be fun, and grab that belt.”

While Faber could certainly have just “blacked out” in the heat of the moment, do you think it could have something to do with dehydration from his weight-cut? Sound off below PENN Nation!
