UFC veteran Nate Diaz will step in on short-notice to fight current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor in a welterweight bout headlining next weekend’s UFC 196 event in Las Vegas.

McGregor has not lost a fight in over five years, his last setback coming in November of 2010 to Joseph Duffy via first-round submission.

McGregor’s other professional loss occurred in June of 2008, when Artemij Sitenkov caught him in a kneebar submission just over a minute in to round one.

Do you think Nate Diaz will be the first man to defeat Conor McGregor since Joseph Duffy? Sound off PENN Nation!
