It was on this day 26 years ago that Buster Douglas handed ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson the first loss of his professional boxing career.
Tyson was 37-0 going into the bout, while Douglas was 30-4-1. In addition, Douglas was a 42-1 underdog going into the fight.
Leading up to the fight Douglas’ mother passed away, however he was able to remain focused and defeat Tyson in the 10th round despite the troubles in his personal life.
