Tough Guy Tuesday: Georges Laraque

By Chris Taylor - December 1, 2015

In today’s segment of “Tough Guy Tuesday” we feature former National Hockey League enforcer Georges Laraque.

Georges Laraque began his NHL career with the Edmonton Oilers during the 1997-1998 season.

The 245-pound product of Montreal, Quebec, Canada would quickly become one of the NHL’s best and most feared enforcers.

Laraque would play eight seasons with the Edmonton Oilers before being traded to the Phoenix Coyotes in 2006.

Georges, who is a good friend of former UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre, would split his final four NHL seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens.

Laraque’s NHL totals include 695 games played with 1126 penalty minutes earned. He also scored 53 goals and added 100 assists during his career.
