VIDEO | Behind the scenes of Conor McGregor’s appearance at MSG with Michael Conlan
Last month, UFC superstar Conor McGregor made his first public appearance in the combat sporting world in quite some time. McGregor managed to remain out of the public eye throughout the course of reports emerging regarding his potential superfight with Floyd Mayweather.
When McGregor appeared at the Madison Square Garden, he did so alongside Irish boxing prospect Michael Conlan, who was making his professional debut at the event. Conlan of course went on to win his pro debut via strikes in the third round.
Above, you can see behind the scenes footage from McGregor’s adventure to New York.
In addition, during his appearance at the MSG, McGregor opened up on the status of his superfight with Floyd Mayweather, saying:
“I’m the boxing guy, watch me take over boxing. Trust me on that. No one in this boxing game knows what’s coming, trust me on that, when I step in there I’m going to shock the whole god damn world. Trust me on that! Look me in the eyes, 28 years of age, confident as a motherfucker. Long, range-y, dangerous with every hand, trust me I’m going to stop Floyd. You’re all going to eat your words. The whole world is going to eat their words. I’m out of here…I am boxing!”
“Fuck Floyd, trust me, this whole boxing world don’t know what they’re going to see when I roll in here. I’m unpredictable, no one knows what they’re in for. Everybody is writing me off, everyone has this little…they’re gonna be in shock, make no mistake about it. I’m ready, I look forward to it, I’m excited, I’m prepared. We’re very close to inking it. I’m not gonna say no more, we’re very close to inking it, that’s it.”
