VIDEO | Cowboy Cerrone Hopes His Fight is the Best Advertisement for UFC Fight Pass

Early in the afternoon on Saturday, there is going to be a wild fight going down in Poland and the only place you can watch it is on UFC Fight Pass. Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone will throw down with up-and-comer Darren Till in the main event. You’d think a name like Cerrone would want to be on pay-per-view somewhere, or the curtain-jerker on a big UFC on FOX card, but he couldn’t care less. He wants anyone who doesn’t have Fight Pass to shell out the nine bucks because the Cowboy is fighting and that’s just must-see TV.

“I want the UFC to post, ‘Cowboy in Poland [on] Fight Pass’ and people say, ‘What the f-ck is Fight Pass? I gotta’ figure out what Fight Pass is. How do we watch this fight?’ That’s what I want. I want you guys to come on and have the biggest draw in the Fight Pass history. Right? Because people gotta’ figure out how they’re going to watch the Cowboy fight because theyk now the son of a b-tch is going in there, biting down, and giving it all. Win or lose, I just want people to know he fights with everything he’s got.”

“Can you pass that test? It’s a good training exercise for Darren [Till]. Welcome to the big leagues. Some people say, ‘Cowboy is the gatekeeper.’ Well, f-ck it: Can he get past the gate? We’ll see. It’s not like those things hurt my feelings. I know who I am, and it’s fine. I’ve been in this game a long time. This is my 34th Zuffa walk. I’ve been in the top 10 almost my entire career. That’s a pretty cool to sit back and say. I’m here, I’m f-ckin’ going out and having fun, and I can’t f-ckin’ wait.” — Donald Cerrone speaking to MMA Junkie.

Donald Cerrone is selling this thing without even trying. His description of the fight is succinct but all-encompassing: They say he’s a gatekeeper so let’s see if Darren Till can get past it. Cerrone admitted he didn’t even know who Till was when he accepted the fight, but that doesn’t matter. Darren Till said Cerrone would die if he stood with him, but that doesn’t matter either. What does matter is it’s going to be a helluva fight, so find a way to watch it. The UFC Gdansk main card starts at 3pm EST on Saturday, with prelims kicking off at 11:30am EST.
