Prior to his sensational submission victory over Wilson Reis in the main event of UFC on FOX 24, UFC flyweight kingpin Demetrious Johnson revealed that he was not happy with the UFC.

“Mighty Mouse’s” frustration with the promotion stemmed from the fact the he only had one UFC championship belt in his possession, this after defending his title on nice separate occasions. (The interview took place prior to DJ’s tenth-title defense last night).

“I’m getting pissed off about that,” Johnson exclaimed. “I saw Daniel Cormier get three damn belts, so Dana White, WME-IMG, whoever writes the checks, give me eight damn belts please, and then I [already have one, so] nine if I win this one. I’ll take it home. I’m going to start collecting these belts. Michael Bisping has two belts and I’m just a nice guy, just a company man, I come here and fight and then they take the belt away from me and I’m like, ‘alright, peace. Call me when you want me to come fight again.’ And that’s it. But now I’m seeing these guys with three belts, and I’m like, I only got one belt and have to share it with two of my kids.”

“Mighty Mouse” continued:

he wants to create a historic photo showing all of his championship successes.

“If the UFC wants to give me nine belts, if I’m successful on Saturday, I’ll take the belt home — if they send me eight more — then I can do one of the things I’ve always wanted to do,” Johnson stated. “Floyd Mayweather has a picture with his all his championship belts, and I think Andre Ward just did it too. And I think it would be cool if I can re-create that same image in mixed martial arts. You got Conor holding up two belts, two weight champion, and I think it would be cool if I were successful and got to 11, and had just 11 UFC titles and have my amateur belts, and be like this is the road I took to get here.”

During last night’s UFC on FOX 24 event recap, UFC president Dana White was asked if Demetrious Johnson will be receiving some more belts.

“Yea, I’m going to get him his belts. I am going to get him his belts. He is definitely keeping the belt he got tonight, and I guess I have some catching up to do”. Dana stated.

He continued:

“Listen, that is not the way it works. People don’t win belts every time. You defend your title and you keep your belt. I mean if we were handing out belts with every single defense here. That would be a lot of money. It is going to be a lot of money to get him (Johnson) eight more belts. And to be honest with you we don’t even have eight more belts. We order them (belts) as we do events. So there is going to be a little bit of a backup on his belts. But we will get it done.”
