VIDEO | Daniel Cormier updates everyone on his injury

By Russell Ess - May 5, 2016

UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier was scheduled to fight former champion Jon Jones at UFC 197 last month.

However, an injury pushed back Cormier’s rematch with Jones and now the two are set to fight in the main event of UFC 200.

Cormier sat down with Jay and Dan on “FOX Sports Live” and gave an update on his injury.

“It feels better. I was able to spar the other day. I felt good, my leg feels healthy. And, like the third or fourth week is when the stem cells really start to take shape and they really start to help the healing process.

“I’m in week five now, so man I feel pretty good. I don’t have much pain in it. I just need to really control myself as I go forward because you want to go in head first. I’m scheduled for such a big event, I want to get after it, but I gotta stay calm, I gotta hold back so I can get to the actual fight.”
