Jon Jones returned to the octagon in the featured bout of last night’s UFC 214 event in Anaheim where he squared off with bitter rival Daniel Cormier in a rematch for the UFC light heavyweight championship.

After two very closely contested opening rounds, “Bones” was able to land a massive head kick to the face of “DC” in round three which left Cormier in all sorts of trouble. Shortly following the kick, Jones out Cormier on the canvas where he began raining down some brutal ground and pound which forced the referee to step in and call the contest.

In his post fight interview with Joe Rogan, a devastated and emotional Daniel Cormier shared his thoughts on the bout.

Joe Rogan: “Daniel give us your thoughts right now.”

Daniel Cormier: “I don’t know man.. Um, I thought the fight was going well. I don’t even know what happened. I guess I got kicked in the head? Oh man, that is so disappointing.”

Joe Rogan: “I don’t think it is a good idea to interview fighters after they have been knocked out, but I really wanted to give you a chance to express yourself. I know this is an incredible moment for you. It is very emotional. What can you say at all about this and the rivalry between you and Jon (Jones)?”

Daniel Cormier: “I don’t know man. I guess if he wins both fights there is no rivalry so… I don’t know.”

Joe Rogan: “Thank you for everything Daniel.”

Following his sensational finish of Daniel Cormier last night, new UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones issued the following challenge to former UFC heavyweight title holder Brock Lesnar.

“Brock Lesnar, you want to know what it feels like to get your ass kicked by someone 40 pounds lighter? Meet me in the Octagon.”
