VIDEO | Floyd Mayweather comes out with his ‘truth’ claiming he carried Conor McGregor and also rips on Oscar De La Hoya
Well if there was anything that could trigger a multi-million dollar rematch between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, this could certainly be it.
While on vacation in China, the retired and undefeated boxing great took to social media to put a couple people on blast.
Mayweather first took aim at Oscar De La Hoya, who made it a point to try his best to rally fans to not watch or give any attention to the Mayweather vs. McGregor boxing match that took place back in August. De La Hoya then stated in November that he wanted to come out of retirement to fight McGregor.
“Wasn’t Oscar De La Hoya the same one that was talking about me fighting Conor McGregor?” Mayweather said. “And he was trying to protest and stop the fight? Now he trying to fight Conor McGregor? Is he a hypocrite or is he back on coke again? Is he a hypocrite or is he back on coke again?
“Man, that boy still snorting them lines!”
Mayweather did not stop there with De La Hoya and went on to tell his “truth” of how he performed in the ring against McGregor.
“Everybody tried to protest the Mayweather-McGregor fight, right? But I’ma tell y’all the truth,” said Mayweather. “I’ma tell y’all the truth – you know I carried McGregor. You know I made it look good for y’all.”
While there have been pundits that agree that Mayweather let the fight go on for as long as it did, not all think so, even some coming from the world of boxing. Question is, how will Conor McGregor respond to Floyd Mayweather’s luring claim?
Do you think Floyd Mayweather carried Conor McGregor into the deeper rounds to give fans a more entertaining fight? It’s safe to assume there is a debate on this one in the comment section.
