The wildly popular “Game of Thrones” series has a cult-like following, very similar to UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and his fans.

The stars aligned recently for “Game of Thrones” actor Liam Cunningham, who is known as Lord Davos Seaworth in the series, to train at SGB Ireland with McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh.

Kavanagh said that he was helping Cunningham with some techniques that could be used for some “Game of Thrones” scenes involving hand-to-hand combat.

Kavanagh tweeted, “Off to teach Davos Seaworth unarmed combat in case he loses his sword. Seriously.”
