Over the years, we’ve seen a number of high-profile mixed martial artists strip down for ESPN’s Body Issue, from Gina Carano, to Jon Jones, to Miesha Tate. The latest fighter to do so is UFC strawweight contender and former Invicta atomweight champ Michelle Waterson – otherwise known as “The Karate Hottie.”

In this year’s edition of ESPN’s Body Issue, Waterson joins athletes like soccer player Julie Ertz, skiier Gus Kenworthy, Football player Ezekiel Elliot, NHL’er Joe Thorton, and softball player AJ Andrews.

See some behind the scenes footage of Waterson’s shoot at the top of this post. It should come as no surprise that the former ring girl and and model absolutely sizzles in this one.

When we last saw Waterson in action, she was stopped in the second round by surging contender Rose Namajunas. Prior to this loss, she authored an emphatic first round submission win over the highly regarded Paige VanZant.

Over the course of her long and impressive career, Waterson has constructed a solid 14-5 overall record, and has picked up wins over names like VanZant, Angela Magana, and Jessica Penne. Though she currently competes as a 115-pound strawweight, she is much better suited for the 105-pound atomweight division – a division the UFC does not currently have.
