VIDEO | Jose Aldo discusses UFC 200, rematch with Conor McGregor
At UFC 194, Jose Aldo’s reign as the only UFC featherweight champion in the history of the UFC was snapped at the hands of Conor McGregor as McGregor picked up a 13 second KO.
While many expected an immediate rematch for Aldo, the UFC decided to book McGregor a lightweight title fight against Rafael dos Anjos. dos Anjos backed out of the fight with a broken foot, and McGregor ultimately fought Nate Diaz at welterweight.
As everyone knows by now, Diaz beat McGregor, and the rematch was booked for UFC 200, however McGregor was pulled from the event after refusing to complete his media obligations. The UFC also booked an interim featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar at UFC 200 on July 9th, with the winner fighting McGregor in the future.
In the video above you can see Aldo discussing his fight with Edgar, and a future rematch with McGregor.
