In his post-fight interview with Jon Anik, Kamaru Usman sought to capitalize on this growing reputation with a callout of former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos, who now stands out as one of the top contenders at welterweight.

“Anybody in that welterweight division that think you want this, you know you don’t,” he said. “Because I’m a problem. I’m a problem in that division.”

“They want to keep lining up anybody, and I’m taking them out. But [Rafael dos Anjos], you want to come into my division, and you want to talk about you’re going for the title? Are you serious? Line ’em up, Sean [Shelby]. Line ’em up, let me send them back down and make them cut weight again.”
