VIDEO | Khabib Nurmagomedov stars in hilarious rap ‘bullshit’ music video
If there is one thing the current #1 UFC ranked lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov is fed up with, it is the “bullshit.”
“The Eagle” was extremely upset when he was given two contracts to fight then-champion Eddie Alvarez for UFC 205 and UFC 206. However, the contracts for the Russian’s first shot at a UFC title many believe was just a negotiation tactic to set up the actual lightweight title fight that took place at UFC 205 between Alvarez and Conor McGregor.
With his submission win over Michael Johnson at UFC 205, Nurmagomedov is eyeing the UFC lightweight belt with it in the firm grasp of McGregor. “The Eagle” stated prior to UFC 205 that he would only fight for the title in his next fight after winning at UFC 205. His tune has not changed as he said he is open to a fight with #2 UFC ranked lightweight Tony Ferguson. However, Khabib did make one stipulation for the fight with Ferguson saying that he would be interested if it was for the interim UFC lightweight title.
“I feel very bad about this because before this year I have two years rest because I have injured all the time. Now I don’t want [to be] waiting for this guy,” Nurmagomedov said to RT Sport. “If Conor don’t want fight before May/June, I want to take other fight. I want to fight for the interim belt with Tony Ferguson.”
“Last time he was injured. He pulled out, not me. He’s not coming to April 16 to the fight. Before I have been injured and now it’s, why not? Now, I think the UFC wants to make this fight. I feel this and for me its perfect date is March. Not early, only March.”
McGregor stated at the UFC 205 post-fight press conference that he would be taking time off until his baby is born, due in the summer of 2017. “The Notorious” also stated that if the UFC wanted him to continue to compete in the Octagon, he wanted shares in the company.
