VIDEO | Pros predict UFC 212 main event Jose Aldo vs. Max Holloway
UFC 212 takes place this Saturday on June 3 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo will meet interim champion Max Holloway in the center of the Octagon in his home country in a title unification main event fight.
With Aldo being promoted as the undisputed champion and Holloway earning the interim belt with his win over former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, some of the pros gave their predictions for the UFC 212 main event.
“Tough fight, tough fight,” said Patrick Cote. “I really, really like that Max Holloway has chance. I think he built his name very well in his last couple fights and you know, Aldo got the belt by default because they just took the belt from Conor. So, it’s kind of weird, but Max is on a really good streak and I think he is going to use the momentum to defeat Jose Aldo.”
While a good amount of the fighters interviewed in the video are picking Holloway to win the title unification bout, some fighters such as Joseph Duffy went to remind everyone of Aldo’s last performance against Frankie Edgar.
“I think Jose Aldo will, it will be similar to the Frankie Edgar fight, the second one,” said Joseph Duffy. “I think he’ll be light on his feet and he’ll pick and move. I think it will be similar to that fight.”
Who are you picking to win the UFC 212 main event between Jose Aldo and Max Holloway? Will Aldo prove that the UFC made the right call by promoting him as the undisputed champion after Conor McGregor relinquished the title? Or, will Max Holloway continue on his hot win streak and establish himself as the king of the featherweight division? Let’s gets your predictions in the comment section!
