On Thursday, the stars of Sunday’s UFC Liverpool card faced off for the media. As always, these media day face-offs were a blend of bravado-fuelled intensity and cool sportsmanship.
UFC Liverpool’s main event fighters, hometown hero Darren Till and number-one ranked welterweight Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, kept things cordial during their staredown, exchanging multiple handshakes. So too did co-main event fighter Neil Magny and his last-minute replacement opponent Craig White, who stepped in for the injured Gunnar Nelson.
While the main and co-main event fighters kept things pretty chill, main card featherweight fighters Makwan Amirkhani and Jason Knight did not, engaging in perhaps the most intense staredown of the day, complete with some trash talk and even a menacing throat-slicing gesture. Molly McCann’s staredown with Gillian Robertson was also quite tense.
