At UFC 197, Jon Jones made his successful return to the Octagon and claimed the interim UFC light heavyweight championship by defeating Ovince Saint Preux via unanimous decision. Saint Preux took the fight on short notice, and earned the respect of many fans for lasting 5 rounds with Jones on such short notice.
The event also featured a flyweight title fight as Demetrious Johnson stopped Henry Cejudo in the first round via TKO. In addition, Edson Barboza defeated Anthony Pettis via unanimous decision on the main card.
