UFC Moncton weigh-in results: Headliners on point, Michael Johnson misses mark

On Saturday night, the UFC makes its anticipated return to The Great White North with its debut event in Moncton, New Brunswick.

This UFC Moncton card will be headlined by a crucial light heavyweight contender bout between former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir and surging finisher Anthony Smith. The co-headliner, meanwhile, will see former lightweight contender Michael Johnson step in to replace the reprimanded Zubaira Tukhugov against Conor McGregor training partner Artem Lobov.

Elsewhere on this UFC Moncton card, we’ll see appearances from names like Misha Cirkunov, Patrick Cummins, Andre Soukhamthath, Gian Villante, Court McGee, Nordine Taleb, Calvin Kattar and Stevie Ray.

Early on Friday morning, the 24 fights on this under-the-radar card stepped onto the scale to weigh in for their respective battles.

Unfortunately, Michael Johnson failed to make weight for his short-notice featherweight scrap with Artem Lobov, tipping the scales one pound above the 146-pound limit for non-title featherweight fights. He will not be able to make another attempt. At present, it’s not known what this means for his fight with Lobov. Negotiations are unfurling currently. Stay tuned.
