Jake Shields Responds: ‘Palhares Has No Business Fighting’
WSOF welterweight Jake Shields suffered a loss at this past weekends WSOF 22 when he fought champion Rousimar Palhares, but that’s not even the worst part.
During the fight he suffered several eye gouges and then when Palhares got the fight ending submission locked in, he held it and cranked it well after Shields tapped.
Since then, Palhares has been suspended and stripped of his title from WSOF and both of them have been given temporary suspensions by the NSAC.
On the recent episode of Chael Sonnen’s podcast, ‘You’re Welcome’, Shields was a guest and talked about the fight.
“I kept saying, he’s doing it again, he’s doing it again. He gave him a warning, but he didn’t take away points.”
“He doesn’t follow the ethical rules and he doesn’t follow the written rules. He has no business fighting. I don’t think anyone will ever let him fight again after this.”
