Jon Fitch vs. Marcelo Alfaya Verbally Agree to WSOF 6 Bout
Jon Fitch (25-6-1, 1 NC) has a confirmed date for his return to the WSOF cage. According to MMAFighting.com, the WSOF Executive Vice President, Ali Abdel-Aziz, Fitch has verbally agreed to take on WSOF newcomer Marcelo Alfaya (15-6, 1 NC) at the WSOF 6 show in Florida. The bout will take place on the main card.
Fitch fell short in his WSOF back in June as he battled Josh Burkman, the second meeting of their careers. Fitch was a heavy favorite heading in to that fight but was choked unconscious in just 41-seconds in front of a stunned Las Vegas crowd. Fitch has gone 1-3-1 in his past 5 fights.
Alfaya rides in to his new home on a three-fight win streak and seeks the biggest win of his career against Fitch.
WSOF 6 takes place on October 26th at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Florida. The main event will host the first ever welterweight title fight as Josh Burkman will take on Steve Carl to crown the first WSOF welterweight champion.
