Two huge announcements just made for UFC 213
Two huge announcements were just made regarding July’s UFC 213 event in Las Vegas.
The promotion announced that an interim middleweight title fight between Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker will co-headline the July 8 event.
With that said, a women’s bantamweight title fight rematch between current champ Amanda Nunes and top contender Valentina Shevchenko will officially headline UFC 213.
Yoel Romero was last seen in action at UFC 205 where he scored a flying knee knockout victory over former division title holder Chris Weidman.
Meanwhile, Robert Whittaker is coming off a stoppage victory over perennial middleweight contender Jacare Souza in his most recent octagon appearance.
In addition to that, Dana White told ESPN that bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt is officially off of the July 8 fight card.
White went on to say that the promotion is now targeting a flyweight title fight between long time division champ Demetrius Johnson and former bantamweight title holder TJ Dillashaw for August.
