UFC 223 Results: Zabit Magomedsharipov defeats Kyle Bochniak

A highly anticipated fight between Zabit Magomedsharipov and Kyle Bochniak took place at tonight’s UFC 223 pay-per-view event in Brooklyn, New York.

Round one begins and Bochniak starts off quickly with forward pressure. He lands a left hand followed by a right. He is literally chasing Zabit around at the moment. He lands another solid combination. Zabit replies with a kick to the body and then another. Kyle continues to charge forward with combinations. He lands a leaping right hand over the top. Zabit remains on his bicycle. The Russian lands a right hand followed by a left jab. Kyle returns fire with a wild right hook. Zabit circles and then lands a crisp jab. He seems to be finding his range now. Another good jab from Zabut. Bochniak retreats. Zabit catches him with a kick to the body. The fighters clinc up briefly and Zabit lands a knee. They break and Kyle catches a kick. He presses Zabit against the cage and fires off a combination. Kyle with a straight left down the pipe. Zabit circles out. He lands a push kick. Kyle shoots in for a takedown but it is not there. Round one comes to an end.

Round two begins and Bochniak charges in with a flurry of punches. He lands a nice left hand over the t. Zabit doesn’t appear to like the pressure. Kyle comes forward but Zabit avoids the shot and transitions to Kyle’s back. He slams Bochniak to the floor. Zabit is working from full guard now. He begins working some short elbows from top position. Kyle scrambles and gets back up to his feet. He eats a knee to the body from Zabit. Kyle drops his hands and then charges forward with a wild combination. Zabit with a front kick. Kyle presses forward but gets swept and winds up on the floor. Zabit is working from full guard now. Once again Kyle is able to scramble back up to his feet. Zabit with a low kick. Kyle shoots in for a takedown but it is not there. Zabit lands a pair of jabs. Kyle eats them and then charges in with an overhand left. Zabit throws a spinning back kick to end round two.

Round three begins and Bochniak charges in with a wild combination to start things off. Zabit misses with a spinning roundhouse kick. Kyle smiles at him. Bochniak is circling on the oustside. He leaps in but eats the back end of a spinning kick from Zabit. Magomedsharipov with the takedown. Kyle bounces right back up but Zabit has a hold of him. Bochniak is bleeding badly from the top of his head. Zabit drags Kyle back to the floor. He begins working some short shots to the body. Kyle scrambles back to his feet but Zabit is all over him. Bochniak scores a sweep and winds up in top position. That doesn’t last long as Zabit is right back up. Kyle unloads with some big shots. Zabit retreats. Bochniak is all over him now. He is unleashing huge shots. This is unreal. Back and forth to the final bell. What a fight!
