BEEF! Dillashaw and Cruz go at it on Twitter!
Dominick Cruz is the challenger who never truly lost his championship. The bantamweight tore through his competition in World Extreme Cagefighting before before graduating to the octagon where he handily defeated Urijah Faber in his debut fight. “The Domin8r” would defend his championship one last time against Demetrious Johnson before getting stripped due to inactivity from repeated injuries.
The fate of the UFC Bantamweight Championship was decided in a title fight between Renan Barao and “The California Kid”, a fight where Team Alpha Male would come up short once again. TJ Dillashaw brought the gold home with him after he outclassed and outstruck Barao in the performance of his career UFC 173. Despite the fight being extremely one sided, fans still clamored to see a rematch between Barao and Dillashaw.
Dillashaw shut the naysayers up when he knocked Barao out again in the fourth round of their meeting at “UFC on FOX”. Now, the rivalry between Team Alpha Male and Dominick Cruz seems to be heating up and the best way to settle it would be a title fight! Check out what the two had to say to each other:
Let's go @TheDomin8r heal that chicken leg up so I can kick your ass already. Let's sign a contract 4 @ufc New Years card. #TheBestNeverRest

Who do you think would come out on top in a fight? Would Dominick Cruz need to shake off the ring rust with a tune up fight, or would he be ready to fight for the UFC Bantamweight Championship right away? Should Dillashaw move up in weight for a superfight, or does he have unfinished business at 135? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
