Dustin Poirier turned down replacement fight against Norman Parke
Wednesday afternoon it was announced that due to a concussion Joseph Duffy would no longer be able to compete in his ‘UFC Fight Night: Dublin’ main event bout against Dustin Poirier.
Following that announcement the UFC promoted Paddy Holohan vs. Louis Smolka to the main event, however before making that decision, they offered Norman Parke the opportunity to step in for Duffy and face Poirier.
Parke took to Twitter to tell the story.
@andrewmcgahon_ @PaddyHolohanMMA @SevereMMA @SeanSheehanBA I was offered the fight..

. @norman_parke this was my team's and management's decision to let the small fish go and fight Duffy when he's healthy.
