Holly Holm Could Bank $7 Million on Rematch With Rousey: Should she wait?
Champ Holly Holm stands to make a great deal of money if she holds out for UFC 200 on July 9th during International Fight Week in Las Vegas NV. Holm brutalized and peppered Rousey with shots from all angles and worked her great footwork to set up a final kick that slept Rousey within 2 rounds at UFC 193.
“The Preachers Daughter” has been vocal about her plans to remain active and is willing to give the fans the fights that they want to see. So far the Miesha Tate looks like she might get the green light to scrap for gold, but their are always little things like…..money that could keep the champ on ice.
“Financially, the Holly Holm fight with Ronda is the biggest fight for Holly Holm. Holly Holm’s going to make like $7 million,” said Rogan
“She doesn’t want to wait, she wants to stay active and I totally understand that, and I think it should be her prerogative as a champion to choose.
“But financially that’s the smart move for her because she’s going to make the most money.” Rogan said.
Knowing that the UFC brass wasn’t excited about a Tate vs Holm fight, I’m guessing that they gave up all the money to to secure UFC 200 to bring in a huge pay day for the organization with the largest rematch in history.
With all the variables in play, do you think Rousey will be healthy in time for the fight or will Tate finally get a shot after racking up 4 straight wins since her loss to Rousey in 2013?
