Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Valerie Letourneau exchange words on UFC 193 media call
Yesterday on the UFC 193 media day conference call things got a bit heated between UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and title challenger Valerie Letourneau.
Jedrzejczyk praised Letourneau on her performances against Maryna Moroz, but stated that it was Letourneau’s comments after the bout that she didn’t like. Despite the overwhelming odds, Letourneau said Jedrzejczyk may be surprised on November 14th when the two square off.
MMAJunkie has the transcription:
“Maybe she’s going to have a bad surprise on Nov. 14. I feel like I improved from my fight with Jessica Rakoczy to Moroz, but I feel like I’ve improved 10 times more already from my fight with Moroz to now. I just can’t wait to put it all there and show what I’m capable of. I hope I’m able to put everything into action.”
Jedrzejczyk responded by reminding Letourneau that she is unlike anyone else Letourneau has fought.
“Can I say something? I’m not not Maryna Moroz and I’m not Racozy. I’m Joanna Champion.”
Letourneau was quick to attempt to defuse the situation.
“I know you’re a great fighter, Joanna. There’s no doubt about it.”
Joanna wasn’t ready to drop the matter without getting the last word in however.
“That’s good. Keep it in your mind.”
When these two finally meet in the co-main event of UFC 193 next month, who do you have winning? Sound off below!
