Rashad Evans vs. Shogun Rua reportedly set for UFC on FOX 19
Rashad Evans and Shogun Rua are both legends in the sport of MMA, however the pair have never fought despite their lengthy careers in the sport.
Back at UFC 128 Evans was set to challenge Rua for the UFC light heavyweight championship, but was forced out of the bout with a knee injury. Evans was subsequently replaced by Jon Jones, who defeated Shogun to claim the UFC light heavyweight championship.
According to Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting, the UFC has booked a light heavyweight scrap between Evans and Rua at UFC on FOX 19 on April 16th, however they have yet to officially confirm the matchup.
Evans is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Ryan Bader in what served as his return to the Octagon after a 2-year layoff.
Rua on the other hand is coming off a unanimous decision win over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira that saw him snap a 2-fight losing streak.
