Robbie Lawler sounds off on potential McGregor move to welterweight

By bjpenndotcom - January 20, 2016

Shortly after it was announced that Conor McGregor would be moving up to lightweight to fight Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight strap at UFC 197 on March 5th, it was revealed that McGregor could even go up to welterweight to challenge Robbie Lawler for his welterweight championship.

At the UFC 197 press conference Wednesday afternoon McGregor once again brought up the possibility of fighting at welterweight, further adding to the hype surrounding ‘Notorious’ fighting in a 3rd weight class.

Robbie Lawler spoke to MMAJunkie to discuss McGregor’s potential move:

“I don’t really get excited,”

“It’s just how I am. Nothing really gets me riled up too much. I just concentrate on myself. A lot of things could happen; everyone knows that. So I can’t concentrate on all these what-ifs because these what-ifs might never happen, and then I’ve wasted my time. So there you go.”

Do you see McGregor going all the way up to welterweight?
