UFC on FOX 17 Results: Nate Diaz defeats Michael Johnson

Former UFC title challenger Nate Diaz (18-10 MMA) squared off with Michael Johnson (16-10 MMA) on the main card of ‘UFC on FOX 17’ in Orlando, Florida.

Diaz starts out by popping the jab. Johnson starts off with some leg kicks. Johnson throws a combination by Nate avoids all the punches. Good leg kicks from both fighters. Johnson lands another. Nate responds with a stiff jab. He’s talking to Johnson now. Nate is getting loose and landing his jab. Big shots from Diaz, who is now laughing at Johnson. Good body shot lands for “The Menace”. Diaz lands the jab again. Johnson returns fire with a leg kick and another. Good kick to the body lands for Johnson. Another good jab from Diaz and both men are throwing down. Good left and a right land for Diaz.

Johnson opens up with a big left hand to start round two. Diaz fires back with a one-two combo. Another good jab from Diaz. Good left hook from Nate lands followed by a jab. Good shots for Diaz who is now peppering Johnson with his jab. Both fighters land left hands. Johnson lands a leg kick and a big left hand. The lightweights are delivering in this one. More jabs from Diaz and they’re landing. Big right for Johnson followed by a big left for Nate. Another left lands for Nate and he throws a front kick. Nate has Johnson hurt but Michael comes back with a big punch. Nate is countering well and picking his shots. Big shots land for Diaz who is taunting Johnson. Another huge right hook from Diaz and round two ends.

Round three begins with a Diaz jab. Johnson is throwing big punches but hasn’t connected yet. Good left from “The Menace”. Nice left hand lands for Diaz followed by a right hook and head kick. Great work from Diaz. he’s peppering Johnson with knees now. Another combination lands from Nate Diaz who looks fantastic in this fight. Another right hook lands. Johnson fires back but Nate’s volume is just crazy. Both fighters land some good shots as they stand and trade. Another great combo lands for Diaz. And another. Johnson scored a late takedown but it likely wasn’t enough to earn him this decision.
