Conor McGregor's Charges Reduced For Cell Phone Incident

According to court records per MMAJunkie, prosecutors have reduced two charges against Conor McGregor in his alleged incident with a fan and his cellphone outside a Miami nightclub last month. The Irish superstars previous charge of a felony has been reduced to a misdemeanor, which means the potential maximum sentence would only be six years as opposed to 20-years which police were pushing for. According to police records, the SBG Ireland standout allegedly slapped a phone out of a fans hand after he was trying to take a photo of McGregor picture around 5 a.m. on March 11. McGregor then stomped on the phone several times.

As the UFC has been doing lately, they’ve installed back up fights or fighters in the case that the main event or title fight has an issue with one of its participants. In the UFC 238 co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko looks to defend her flyweight title against Jessica Eye. Also on the card is Joanne Calderwood facing Katlyn Chookagian. Calderwood has revealed since the fight’s announcement that she will be on standby in case something happens in the title fight.
