Leading up to the event, Rousey caused quite a stir when a preview for the episode showed Rousey wearing a fancy ring on ‘that finger’ leading many to wonder whether or not Rousey and UFC heavyweight Travis Browne were engaged.

The New York vs. MMA saga continued today after New York District Court Judge Kimba Wood shot down the UFC’s preliminary injunction to bypass the New York MMA ban and hold Jones vs. Cormier II at the Madison Square Garden. UFC COO Lawrence Epstein released a statement on the matter, which was obtained by MMAMania.

When Fabricio Werdum announced he too was pulling out of the UFC 196 event against Stipe Miocic after Miocic agreed to step up, will more than likely take some incoming fire for jumping ship days from the event.

It has been a couple of crazy days for the UFC heavyweight division. On Sunday, UFC President Dana White announced that Cain Velasquez was forced out of his UFC 196 title fight with heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum due to an injury. Top contender Stipe Miocic was set to fill in for Velasquez for his chance at the title.

With Stipe Miocic looking like a hero for stepping up in such short notice, sources reveal that the fight in fact will not go down between Miocic and Werdum. Cain Velasquez had to call off the fight due to injury leaving Werdum less than two weeks to prepare for a different fight. Werdum reserved the right not to fight due to his own injuries that he would of had to fight through had not Velasquez stepped down from the title fight.

Ronda Rousey isn’t the only one getting recognized in Venice, California in works of art. The UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor also has some adoring fans in the street art community who painted a mural of “The Notorious” out on a street in Venice. It isn’t as big of a piece as Ronda Rousey’s mural who lives in the city as the hometown hero, but for the Irishman’s fame, it is a step in the right direction.

Matt Brown and Demian Maia are set to fight in Brazil at the UFC Fight Night event on May 14. Also scheduled on the Fight Night event in Brazil is a bout between two of the top middleweights. Jacare Souza and Vitor Belfort will meet in the Octagon with a winner getting a step closer to a title fight.
