Andre Pederneiras reveals bias with UFC with regard to Jose Aldo

On March 5, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor will get a chance to make history at UFC 197. McGregor could become the first fighter in UFC history to hold two different weight class championship belts simultaneously, if he beats lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos. Andre Pederneiras, coach of former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo revealed in an interview with Sherdog that they requested to do the same thing, but were continually denied.

Wanderlei Silva released from UFC after making public apology for 'fixed fight' allegations

MMA legend Wanderlei Silva has been released from his contract with the UFC. FOX Sports says that their sources have confirmed the release, althought the UFC has yet to release a statement on situation. Per FOX Sports:

Following Holly Holm’s spectacularly brutal KO win over Ronda Rousey at UFC 193, many fans were quick to turn on Rousey. It was nearly impossible to go on social media without seeing a meme of Rousey posted somewhere. The criticism has been so bad that Rousey’s nemesis Cris Cyborg even feels bad for how the former champ has been treated by the public.

Following his 13 second UFC 194 KO win over Jose Aldo, it was revealed that Conor McGregor would be moving up to lightweight to challenge Rafael dos Anjos for his championship belt. It was announced that the fight would headline UFC 197 on March 5th, while Holly Holm vs. Miesha Tate would be the co-main event for the bout.
