5 Cross-Promotional Events That Will Never Happen
It’s been about two weeks since Bellator shot down the hopes of MMA fans everywhere by not accepting the challenge served by the World Series of Fighting. Yes its true, none of us honestly expected it to happen, but that doesn’t mean we didn’t want it to Bjorn! That tiny part of our brains that still held on to smallest of childish hope was crushed and we were sent back to the real world to watch our normal, singular promoted, MMA events.
WHY BJORN?!!
We will go on. After all, we will always have UFC [insert number]: so and so vs. that guy, or Bellator [insert number]: this guy we kind of know vs. this guy we do know because he used to fight in the UFC. Life is not so bad; however, with the failed cross-promoted event and the realization that nothing like that will ever actually happen, it is a little boring.
To spice it up a bit, here are 5 cross-over events that will also never happen even though we might really want them to. THANKS A LOT BJORN!
1. UFC vs. The cast of the ‘Jersey Shore’: Fight For the Right to Party
Chris Weidman vs Michael “The Situation” Sorrentino
Junior Dos Santos vs. Ronald “Ronnie” Ortiz-Magro, Jr.
Ronda Rousey vs. Jennifer “JWOWW” Farley
Nate Diaz vs. Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio
Miesha Tate vs. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi
2. UFC vs. WWE
Brock Lesnar vs. Brock Lesnar
Demetrious Johnson vs. Rey Mysterio
Jon Jones vs. The Rock
Dana White vs. Vince McMahon
3. Bellator vs. Anyone at all
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Mr. T
Eddie Alvarez vs. Anyone not named Michael Chandler
Vitaly Minakov vs. Vladimir Putin
Alexander Shlemenko vs. Anderson Silva (with a broken leg)
4. The World Series of Fighting vs. The World Series of Poker: All In
Justin Gaethje vs. Johnny Chan
Andrei Arlovski vs. Phil Hellmuth
Jesse Taylor vs. Billy Baxter
Nick Newell vs. Artie Cobb
5. MMA Fighters vs. Acting
Acting wins every time.
This was meant to be for entertainment purposes only, so go easy on the comments about none of these ever happening! That being said, let me know your predictions either in the comments or on twitter (@ryancmiller1630).
