Booking Roundup – UFC Books Several High Profile Bouts For Upcoming Events
As always, the UFC has been incredibly busy booking matches for upcoming events.
Catch up with all of the latest happenings in the matchmaking world with BJPENN.com’s Booking Roundup!
First up we have Demian Maia vs. Ryan LaFlare, which will headline “UFC Fight Night 62” in Brazil on March 21st. Maia is coming off a unanimous decision win over Alexander Yakovlev, whereas the undefeated LaFlare is 11-0 in his professional MMA career, and 4-0 in his UFC career.
Next up we have Nik Lentz vs. Levan Makashvili, which will go down at “UFC Fight Night Colorado” this Saturday. Lentz is coming off a unanimous decision win over Manny Gamburyan, whereas Makashvili will be making his UFC debut on the card after going 6-1 on the regional scene.
Next up we have a change in a previously scheduled bout. Aljamain Sterling will be stepping in to fight Takeya Mizugaki at UFC on FOX 15 on April 18th. Mizugaki is coming off a quick TKO loss to Dominick Cruz, whereas Sterling is undefeated in his professional career, and has gone 2-0 in the UFC, most recently getting a TKO win over Hugo Viana.
Next up is another bout change as Gleison Tibau will step in on short notice to fight Tony Ferguson at UFC 184 later this month. Tibau is riding a 3-fight win streak into the bout that most recently saw him defeat Norman Parke via split decision. Ferguson on the other hand is riding a 4-fight win streak that has seen him pick up stoppage wins in 3 of those 4 wins.
Next up we have Daniel Omielanczuk vs. Anthony Hamilton, which will go down at “UFC Fight Night Krakow” on April 11th. Omielanczuk is coming off a decision loss to Jared Rosholt, whereas Hamilton is coming off a KO loss to Todd Duffee, dropping his UFC record to 1-2.
Next up is another opponent change for a pre-existing bout. Jake Lindsey is stepping in to fight Joseph Duffy, the last man to defeat Conor McGregor, at UFC 185 on March 14th. Lindsey is still searching for his first promotional win, going 0-2 in the UFC, whereas Duffy is making his UFC debut on a 2-fight win streak.
Next up we have Kenny Robertson vs. George Sullivan, which goes down at UFC on FOX 15 on April 18th. Robertson is riding a 3-fight win streak, winning his most recent bout against Sultan Aliev at “UFC Fight Night: Stockholm”. Sullivan on the other hand is riding an 8-fight win streak that includes 2 wins under the UFC banner.
Next up we have John Makdessi vs. Abel Trujillo, which goes down at UFC 186 on April 25th. Makdessi is coming off a loss to Alan Patrick, whereas Abel Trujillo is coming off a loss to Tony Ferguson which snapped a 2-fight win streak.
Last, but certainly not least, we have Thomas Almeida vs. Yves Jabouin, which also goes down at UFC 186 on April 25th. Almeida is undefeated as a professional, going 17-0, and 1-0 under the UFC banner, whereas Jabouin is coming off a win over Mike Easton.
In addition to the above mentioned bouts, as we previously reported, Jorge Masvidal will face Al Iaquinta in the main event of “UFC Fight Night: Virginia” on April 4th.
