Cain Velasquez Talks Injuries And Training
UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez recently talked to the media at his gym, AKA, bout his training and about staying healthy.
Velasquez has been injury prone to say the least, but is set to face Fabricio Werdum for a title unification fight in Mexico City on June 13.
Here’s what he had to say about his training methods and about what he’s learned about his body.
“I feel like it gets me ready for fights. I feel like it’s the best way to get ready for fights. I feel like I’m most prepared when I actually fight for a fight.”
“More so (it’s) just listening to my body–little tweaks here and there. I would say in those situations, it’s better to do less, to take off a little bit and then just come back strong rather than just beat the body down more and more and just breaking it down.”
