CAIN! ‘Werdum not the real champ, and I’m ready to settle the score’

Interim champion, full champion, this champion, that champion; Cain Velasquez is tired of talking about it.

The UFC heavyweight champion will fight Fabricio Werdum this weekend in Mexico City. Werdum is the interim champion and of course the winner of the fight will be the unified champion.

So, does Velasquez see Werdum as the champ? Not exactly.

“UFC didn’t give him the real belt because they didn’t think he was the champ, so, I mean, he’s not… There’s a title that comes with that: ‘interim champion,’ it’s not the real one. With all of that, just set it aside and on the 13th we are going to settle it and that is what I’m excited about.”

Should anyone view Werdum as an actual champion, or are the interim titles just for show? All will be settled on Saturday.
