CEJUDO GETS MEXICO CITY WISH
Undefeated flyweight contender Henry Cejudo put on a dominant performance earlier this month in Dallas, when he defeated former title challenger Chris Cariaso at UFC 185 via unanimous decision.
The 2008 Olympic wrestling gold medalist, Cejudo, is of Mexican heritage, and wants to be a part of UFC 188 in Mexico City:
“I would love to fight in Mexico City,” Cejudo said at the UFC 185 post-fight press conference. “I’m fluent in Spanish. My parents are from Mexico City.”
Cejudo’s request did not fall on deaf ears, as MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani reported on Wednesday’s edition of ‘UFC Tonight’ that Cejudo has been booked for the June 13 event.
Sources have indicated that Chico Camus has been targeted as Cejudo’s opponent for the June fight card.
