Cerrone Offers to Replace Melendez Against Iaquinta

Gilbert Melendez was originally scheduled to face “Raging” Al Iaquinta on July 15, but has been pulled from the card due to failing his UFC 188 post fight drug test. UFC confirmed in their statement that they would be searching for a replacement rather than pulling Iaquinta off the card.

Dana White and Joe Silva— look no further.

Of course, Donald Cerrone threw his cowboy hat in the mix! Cerrone is currently riding an eight fight win streak and has been guaranteed the next shot at the UFC Lightweight Championship, but Rafael dos Anjos won’t make a return until winter! Cerrone is always in fighting shape and doesn’t want to wait that long.
