Dana White Confirms T.J. Grant Still In Lightweight Title Hunt
“The kid’s just got to take his time, heal up, and relax and we’ll see what happens. The belt’s going to be there no matter who has the belt. It will be there and we’ll figure the T.J. Grant thing out when T.J. Grant gets healthy.”
Canada’s own, T.J. Grant earned a shot at UFC gold with his most recent win over Gray Maynard. Grant’s impressive stint in the UFC’s lightweight division has made him one of the more promising contenders.
He was originally scheduled to face off with Benson Henderson at UFC 164, but an injury suffered in training forced him out and Anthony Pettis in as his replacement.
Grant was then booked to face Pettis in December, but that same nagging injury stopped him from committing and Josh Thomson has come in his stead.
