Dana White: Gustafsson vs Mousasi Still On For UFC On Fuel TV 9 | UFC NEWS
After sustaining a cut above his eye while training, Alexander Gustafsson’s status for his upcoming fight against Gegard Mousasi this Saturday has been a big question mark. It appears the suspense surrounding the situation can now be put to rest, at least for the time being. MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani recently posted on Twitter that UFC President Dana White had told him the following:
Hold up! @danawhite just told me @alexthemauler vs. @mousasi_mma is STILL ON. “The SAC has not said he can’t fight + he wants to fight.”

That’s right ladies and gentleman, the fight is still on, and ‘The Mauler’ is still anxious to get in the octagon despite his injury. Furthermore, a missing Alexander Gustafsson in the main event could be detrimental to the organization’s plans for the UFC Light Heavyweight division. Dana stated in February that with a win against Mousasi, Gustafsson will be granted a shot at the title.
UFC on Fuel TV 9 takes place on Saturday, April 6, at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
