Dana White Not Happy with UFC 166 Officials: Get Your Ass in There and Stop That F–king Fight

UFC 166 has come and gone while delivering some extremely memorable moments. Some of those moments, however, were not fond memories.

Several refereeing errors were made over the night as some fighters received undue punishment long after the fight had come to a conclusion due to the loss of consciousness. Among those was a Facebook preliminary bout between Adlan Amagov and T.J. Waldburger which saw Waldburger being hit with several unanswered shots after going out including one that stiffened him up to the point where his head was turned to one side, frozen, from the impact of the final punch. This was due to incredibly poor placement by the referee in relation to where the action was taking place.

Bad stoppages, in White’s (and several other viewer’s) eyes, came from bouts such as Shawn Jordan and Gabriel Gonzaga and a botched judges scoring of the Tim Boetsch vs. C.B. Dolloway bout which was scored for the right fighter, but with improper totals that didn’t reflect the competitive nature of the bout.

UFC president Dana White made his anger known to MMAFighting.com on the UFC officiating debut of Jay Safin from UFC 166:

“He was terrible. The guy was terrible. Always in the wrong position,” UFC President Dana White told reporters afterward.

“That knucklehead referee. I started screaming at this f–king guy. [Jordan] was getting blasted. I counted six [extra strikes].

White was his normal verbal self in discussing an issue that irks him as the health of the fighter’s may be compromised:

“Whenever a guy gets knocked out, especially when a guy takes more punches than he should, it always freaks me out. The one punch knocks you out, and then for him to take more punishment after that when he’s out, I go f–king crazy, man. I hate it.”

White was also specific in the aforementioned Jordan/Gonzaga bout in which Jordan received extra punishment after being badly hurt on his feet:

“Six extra punches he took in the face, Jordan did,” White continued. “I mean if you look at the physical stature of that referee, he shouldn’t be in there with two big heavyweights anyway. That guy weighed about f–king 97 pounds. It’s like when they throw what’s-her-face in Nevada, she’s in there with two huge guys. It’s like, are you serious right now?”

“I jumped up and I was screaming at that f–king referee tonight. Screaming at him. Do your f–king job. Get your skinny ass in there and stop that f–king fight when this guy is out cold, getting hit. I hate it so bad. It makes me sick.
