Dana White Shuts Down Henderson vs. MacDonald Fight Talks

Last night after Benson Henderson defeated Brandon Thatch via 4th round submission, he revealed that if Rory MacDonald was still in need of an opponent for UFC 186, he would be happy to step in for Hector Lombard, who was popped for PEDs after his UFC 182 win over Josh Burkman.

Immediately the MMA world began to buzz about this potential fight, however UFC President Dana White revealed at the post-fight press conference that MacDonald already has a fight booked, it just hasn’t been announced yet.

“He has a fight lined up already, but is hasn’t been announced yet.”

White went on to praise Henderson for being so dominant against a much bigger opponent, and give the former champ his blessing to continue to fight at 170.

“Ben took some big shots tonight, too. He looked awesome tonight. If he wants to stay at 170, I’m cool with it.”
