Daniel Cormier: ‘It’s Me And Jones And Then Everyone Else’
Daniel Cormier will try and make his first UFC light heavyweight title defense on October 3 when he squares off with Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 192 in Las Vegas.
While Cormier acknowledges that Gustafsson is game opponent, he truly believes that the light heavyweight division only has two top dogs and that’s him and Jon Jones:
“I think it’s me and Jon Jones and then everybody else,” Cormier told FOX Sports recently. “If he’s not around, then it’s me. People can like it or they can hate it, but it’s the truth, or as I say, the truth as I know it.”
Jon Jones is of course currently out, suspended indefinitely, pending his court case stemming from an alleged hit-and-run involving a pregnant women. His hearing is expected to take place this coming week. We will keep you posted on any updates on his future in MMA.
