Diaz in talks with NSAC, could potentially return in 2016
When Nick Diaz was handed a 5 year suspension from the NSAC last month there was an uproar. Many called out the NSAC for abusing their power and essentially forcing the end of Diaz’s MMA career.
A petition was started, which received support from numerous high-profile figures including Cher, Wiz Khalifa, Gina Carano, and more. In addition, the petition received the required 100,000 signatures to bring it to the attention of President Obama.
Diaz took to Instagram Tuesday night to inform fans that talks with the NAC are “going well” and according to MMAFighting.com, a source close to the situation stated that Diaz could be back in the Octagon in 2016.
Anderson Silva, who fought Diaz at UFC 183 also failed a drug test and was suspended for one year. If there are talks of a potential 2016 Diaz return to the Octagon and Diaz is in talks with the NSAC the NSAC could potentially be looking to drop Diaz’s suspension down to one year.
