Diaz: Silva Couldn’t Finish Me. I Would Be the One to End It

Nick Diaz returned to the octagon tonight and lost to Anderson “The Spider” Silva after five hard fought rounds. The fight went to decision and although Diaz did not agree with the judges’ scoring criteria, Diaz remained respectful toward Anderson Silva after the fight.

Diaz did not take any significant damage that could have ended the fight. He suffered a cut over his left eye, but he claimed that the cut was there before he even walked into the octagon. After feeling Silva’s power, Diaz said that he didn’t think Silva would end up finishing him.

During the UFC 183 Post Fight Press Conference, Diaz stated, “I don’t think he could have finished me. If anyone could have finished anybody it would be me finishing him.”
