Diego Brandao On Fighting Conor McGregor: “This fight is about me”
When Cole Miller withdrew from his fight against Conor McGregor due to injury, the UFC turned to Diego Brandao to fill his spot. Brandao accepted the opportunity and will now face off with McGregor in Ireland on July 19. at UFC Fight Night 46. A fight that will be featured as the main event.
Brandao is coming off of a first round KO loss to Dustin Poirier and hoping to make the most of this high-profile fight. He recently spoke on The MMA Hour about fighting McGregor and what the fight means for him.
“Whoever has a mouth, can talk whatever they want. If he’s man enough, he can go say it to peoples’ face. I don’t care about Conor. This fight is about me, to prove to myself. Because of the last fight, everyone thinks, ‘Diego’s done.’ Everybody knows I’ve been up and down. July 19, Diego is back, that is the only thing I am going to say. I cannot say nothing about Conor. He’s already a superstar, everybody know him.”
UFC Fight Night 46 will take place in Dublin, Ireland on July 19.
