Erick Silva Promises to End Fight with Rick Story ‘As Soon as Possible’
There was a time when Erick Silva was looked at as the next big thing to come out of Brazil. Silva suffered a couple setbacks against the likes of Matt Brown, Jon Fitch and Dong Hyun Kim which took the spotlight away from him for a short amount of time. However, still young, Silva is at the point where he can still be the next big thing while catching everybody off guard.
Silva, seen here training with “The Spider”, has won two in a row including a devastating choke over veteran Josh Koscheck. Silva requested a fight with Rick Story explained to Combate why he asked for the fight.
“That’s a fight I asked for and it’s just what we want at the moment. We want to advance one step at a time. Rick Story is excellent, a really tough guy,” Silva explained. ”
Erick Silva has approached his most recent fights with top-notch game-planning— even outwrestling Koscheck! Silva will be walking into his fight with Story at “The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 4 Finale” no different; He will be looking to fight off the grapple to strike with “Horror”.
“We have set up a great game plan focused on takedown defense, clinching and wrestling, because that’s we think he will do. Most people think the fight will go on for three rounds, but I don’t think so. I think it ends in the first round. We are training some very technical strikes to catch him coming in and end the fight as soon as possible.”
If Erick Silva can pull off a win against Rick Story, he may be able to propel himself into another fight with a high-caliber opponent. Who would you like to see him face if he wins? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
