Faber: ‘McGregor Missed A Lot Of Practices On TUF’
We’ve heard from a few people, TJ Dillashaw and Conor McGregor himself, that the Irishmen didn’t coach his TUF team in the traditional way, as in, coach them at all.
Dillashaw said he was barely there, while McGregor admitted that he didn’t think he needed to teach his team anything, just basically tell them his philosophy about fighting.
Well fellow coach, Urijah Faber, said on Wednesday that McGregor actually wasn’t even present for a lot of his team’s practices.
Here’s what he had to say:
“He was there a little bit, but he wasn’t hands-on. I know he wasn’t there for a lot of the practices.”
“If I was in their situation, I would like to get as much knowledge as possible with the interim champ. It’s a six-week process, a lot of these people spent their whole lives dedicated to the sport, it’s one of those things where, you don’t really need to hold their hand, but, being there, that kind of makes sense.”
